WOTC Goes Off Without a Hitch...more or less
There was the flat tire...and the burned bride...but other than that, Kevin & Meredith had a wonderful time and the two main criteria were met: 1) no one was (seriously) hurt and 2) they got married!!

Do you have pictures to share? We've started a collection at theweddingofthecentury.shutterfly.com.
Anyone can post to it, and we want to see more pics! In a couple of weeks we'll get Rachel's (pro photog) pics, but we're hungry for more crazy shots.

Meredith and Kevin were a little disappointed in the higher ed contingent - we saw no waving foam fingers, as promised, and no RV.

Not a fairy princess wedding, but...
Preparations are winding down. We forced our mothers to co-clean our apartment yesterday in advance of coffee & dessert night on Friday. There are already a total of five out-of-towners here, with about a dozen more scheduled to arrive today. Many bills are paid. Plans have been confirmed and reconfirmed. We've killed two printer cartridges.
Rest assured, the WOTC will feature a variety of jokes that will perhaps tone down the elegance and up the funnies.
This B2B and G2B are looking forward to this weddin', and so should you!

Is it over yet?
Just a quick post to let you all know that the WOTC is still scheduled for NEXT SATURDAY (*note: omg omg omg!), and that Meredith and I have not yet decided to skip th
e next 9 days of frazzled nerves and sleepless nights. Although if it wasn't too late to elope, who knows? I think it started to dawn on me that it was really getting close when I started ending phone calls with "See you soon!" instead of goodbye. Or maybe its all those checks I see going out in the mail....
Either way, we have started receiving some amazing wedding presents, and look forward to seeing everyone in the upcoming days. And perhaps even more, saying goodbye to everyone and busting out on our honeymoon!

Come rain or come shine
One of the most beautiful things about our wedding, aside from our radiant smiles and sparkling personalities, is that, whether or not it rains, we WILL ALL HAVE A GOOD TIME.
Although we are planning to hold the ceremony OUTDOORS, on the beautiful lawns and gardens of the Stevens Estate, we recognize that, here in the Northeast, occassionally it can pour rain on a moment's notice, ruining any life event you might have otherwise planned.
However, should it choose to rain, the interior of the Estate is well-suited for an intimate ceremony in the double parlor. It is a lovely setting, EITHER WAY.

A guide for proper enjoyment of the festivities

As the date approaches, and plans come into sharper focus, Meredith and I have had lots of fun planning things to entertain and amaze you -the masses. Originally, I thought we would simply post a sign that says, "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem!", but I realize now that that does not cover the subtleties of etiquette required for such an event. And so, without further ado, I give you my list of Dont's and Do's for the WOTC.
DON'T: Place bets on the success of our wedding.
DO: Place side bets on everything else.
DO: Take advantage of the weekend to meet new people.
DON'T: Take advantage of new people you meet over the weekend.
DON'T: Get drunk enough to fall over.
DO: Get drunk enough to dance.
DON'T: Try to start "The chicken dance" after dinner
DO: Try to start "The wave" during the ceremony (Note to Moms: I'm kidding!)
DO: Shower us with praise and affection.
DO: Shower.
DON'T: Ask us to play "The Macarena."
DON'T: Really, don't ask for The Macarena, it just isn't happening.
